Journey

ISH, a collection of handmade functional and sculptural ceramics made by me, Ishka - Thanks for coming along

Raised in a house of creatives, art has always been an outlet for me. My formal education began in Art and Design, focusing on the way objects interact with their surroundings. However, it was the tactile, nature of clay that has sparked an all-consuming passion. Today, my practice is a return to that initial impulse: the simple, grounding act of shaping earth into form.

Inspiration

My studio is tucked within the Titirangi bush, a landscape defined by its density, its shadows, and its persistent textures. Drawing colours from the deep muted earthtones and finding inspiration in the raw organic shapes of the coast. My work is an attempt to bottle that atmospheric stillness and turn it into tactile objects.

Process

I work at the intersection of utility and art. While my roots are in functional ceramics - objects designed to be used, weathered, and held. I have recently found interest in more sculptural inquiries. These pieces are less about purpose and more about presence. Whether I am throwing a vessel or hand-forming a sculpture, I focus on textures and organic forms, allowing the clay to have a say in the final outcome.

Every Item is made with Love

If you have any inquiries or interest in a collaboration, I'd love to hear from you.
